If what you’re looking for in an estate agent is someone who says all the right things, puts in the least amount of effort possible, gives you a lot of viewings to make it seem like they’re doing something but can then never get in contact with those people again, don’t show any enthusiasm or have any answers during those viewings, and seem to do everything possible to work against you, then this is the estate agent for you! They will promise you a price and then after a week insist that you lower it. After two years of trying to sell through High Street estate agents, we finally came to our senses and went with somebody who actually knew what they were doing. If you actually want to sell your property, do what we did and contact Ollie Hawkins at Avocado, or anyone from Avocado (or non-high street agents). He sold it within a week of listing it, actually seemed to care about what he was selling and the people he was selling it for and is actually a really nice guy. Don’t make the mistake we made for as long as we made it. High Street agents don’t care about you or your property, they only care about the numbers.

We contacted Winkworth regarding our need to let a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in Central Reading, beginning in July 2026.
