Hathaways Estate & Lettings Agency

Hathaways Estate & Lettings Agency is an estate and letting agency based in Oxfordshire, UK. The agency was a British Property Awards Winner in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Hathaways has sold 76 homes recently, and more than half of these sales were sold discreetly off market. Rhys Hathaway is a Director of Hathaways. He has a decade of experience across residential sales, lettings and property management, with particular expertise in complex lettings matters, HMO and selective licensing, compliance and resolving difficult situations.

Oliver Barker is Head of Sales at Hathaways. He has more than 15 years in residential property and previously held responsibility as an area training director for one of the UK's largest corporate estate agency groups. Rhys, Oliver and Liam form the leadership team. Hathaways offers sales, lettings and sell or let advice.

Working across sales, lettings, investment and property management in Oxford, the agency draws consistent praise for the way staff handle a transaction from first contact to completion. Ollie and Rhys are named time and again, with reviewers describing them as informative, approachable and persistent in pursuing answers and arranging access for repeat visits. A point made in several accounts is how forthcoming the advice is: potential buyers report being shown both the strengths and the shortcomings of a property rather than being steered towards a quick decision.

Communication is repeatedly described as clear and steady, with queries answered promptly and progress chased proactively so that clients feel supported at every stage. The team's grasp of the local housing market, including specific districts, is treated as a real advantage when weighing up a purchase. Reviewers also note the care taken to grasp what each client needs, whether or not a deal eventually proceeds, and the same attentive handling is said to carry through to management, maintenance and investment work.
