Terrible at maintaining the properties, and will deduct from your deposit regardless of how you maintain it. The whole property had issues with mould especially the bathroom and they’re trying to withhold my deposit for an issue they know exists in the house, which is a health risk as well. Bad customer service as well, very rude people behind the phone!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Hype Lettings. I viewed a property with my brother, who has mild learning difficulties, as he is looking to live independently. He has successfully lived on his own before, but occasionally needs support communicating and understanding certain processes, which is where I step in to advocate for him when needed. After the viewing, my brother wanted to proceed with an application. I called on his behalf, and the lettings administrator, Debbie, said she would call him directly. After waiting an hour with no call, we instead received an email demanding a £150 non-refundable deposit, with no prior explanation. When I called back to clarify, Debbie insisted on speaking only with my brother due to “policy.” My brother tried to engage with her, but she spoke very quickly and showed no patience or willingness to adapt her communication to his needs. When he asked for me to assist and speak on his behalf, she refused outright. I explained my brother’s circumstances and additional needs, but this was dismissed. It became clear that there was no willingness to provide even basic reasonable adjustments or support. I then contacted Henriette, who is listed as the manager/owner. After explaining the situation and suggesting the importance of inclusivity and staff training, I was told that there were “plenty of other applicants who do not need additional support,” and effectively that they were not interested in proceeding. This response was not only dismissive but deeply concerning. It demonstrated a complete lack of understanding, compassion, and inclusivity toward individuals with additional needs. This experience felt discriminatory and entirely unacceptable. I would strongly advise others, particularly those who may require any form of support or reasonable adjustment, to approach with caution.
One of the worst renting experiences I’ve had. I have lived in multiple agency-managed properties, and this is by far the worst. The management is unresponsive and shows little to no concern for resident issues. Complaints submitted through their website are ignored, with no meaningful follow-up or resolution. There is a clear lack of transparency and accountability. Several important terms and charges are buried in the contract, which are not properly explained at the time of signing. These hidden clauses only come to light when problems arise, putting residents at a disadvantage. Overall, the service is unprofessional and disappointing. Residents are made to feel unheard and unsupported throughout their tenancy. I strongly advise anyone considering their properties to read the contract extremely carefully and to think twice before renting with this agency. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying in any of their properties.
I would strongly advise avoiding using Hype lettings. We had countless maintenance issues including no heating or hot water for 2 weeks during the middle of winter, showers leaking through to the room below and damaging the electrics and both the washing machine and dryer breaking numerous times just to name a few. During these issues we had to chase Hype lettings up daily as they had no interest in fixing them with any urgency, often deciding on cheap 'temporary' fixes that did not work. After all these issues they still attempted to take my deposit, claiming I had not cleaned my room. Luckily I had photos to prove they were lying and the DPS sided with me. Avoid at all costs!
Avoid hype lettings at all costs, constantly trying to pull the wool over your eyes, and the customer service is disgraceful. Shoddy business that needs investigation. *EDIT* So what about the threats we received, and the illegal moves you've done before my mental health episode? Got all the evidence we need, I'm sure the landlord would have the correct insurance to cover the costs? Like entering the house while we still own it, giving us the wrong amount of time to leave, harassing a young disabled woman with a baby and trying to get the whole house refurbished for a bit of damage done to the property.
good day .. I advise you to be very careful with this agency. A week ago I was supposed to take a house from this agency to which I paid rent and a deposit for a 2-bed house! Before collecting the keys in the property we found cockroaches walking on the wall! The house only looked clean and freshly painted but it was infested with insects!!! I automatically rejected the property !! The agency turned its back on me saying that I would have to move into the property anyway because the papers were signed. I attacked our emails to have them cancel it and return the money I never saw the keys so I had the right to cancel it. The woman who works in this agency was terribly selfish and arrogant! After a week they finally agreed to cancel and find a new owner. They refunded me the amount from the deposit and rent but they took £500! for the cancellation .. which was not my fault ... this agency is trying to deceive you !! and if there is any problem they try to blame everything on you so they don't have to return the amount that doesn't belong to them !! in 33 years I have not met a worse agency than Hype Lettings !!!!!
