Hunters Estate & Letting Agents Southampton holds a 4.7 rating from 1,046 Google reviews. Staff including Natalie and Jasmine Bradley are repeatedly praised for responsive, dedicated service across both lettings and sales, with one seller describing near-24-hour support and a sale completed within three months. However, some reviews describe serious recurring problems, including a rental property shown for viewing despite being left in an unsanitary condition, and a tenant reporting promised parking was withdrawn shortly after move-in with little help resolving it. Prospective tenants may wish to inspect properties carefully and clarify advertised amenities before committing.

4.7 / 5 · 1046 totalI have been a client of Hunters for 10 years now having entrusted them to manage one of my rental properties and then following a very competent and competitively priced service moving the rest of my portfolio to them. Natalie the property manager is always cheerful and extremely responsive and has total regard for the landlord ensuring only vital property costs are passed. Recently I had reason to engage on the property sales side. Having personally and all the time in my work life dealt with agents I have never enjoyed such professionalism and care than that afforded to me by Jasmine Bradley. She deals with all aspects in such a calm and grown up manner she really sets herself apart from other industry professionals. I would wholeheartedly recommend this experienced and balanced individual to anyone who is considering selling their home. Natalie and Jasmine are first class employees and the reason I do and will continue to rely on the services of Hunters. THANK YOU LADIES
I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting through this estate agent. When we signed our tenancy agreement, the property was advertised and agreed with included parking — which was a key factor in our decision to rent the flat. However, just a few months into our tenancy, the parking was suddenly closed off and made unavailable. This caused significant inconvenience and disruption to our daily lives, especially as parking had been a major factor in choosing this property. What’s particularly frustrating is how the situation was handled. The estate agent did very little to help resolve the issue and took no responsibility whatsoever, despite the parking being part of what was originally offered. Communication was poor, and we were essentially left to deal with the consequences on our own. During this time, we were forced to park in a Tesco car park and pay for parking after work. On multiple occasions there were no spaces available, meaning I had to drive around late in the evening trying to find alternative parking elsewhere. This was both stressful and time-consuming. To try and resolve the issue, my partner had to take several hours out of his working day over the course of a week, including attending a three-hour meeting. Despite this effort, the only solution offered was for the landlord to contribute just 50% towards alternative parking — which was located far away from our building in a public car park. Even with this contribution, it would still leave us paying over £100 extra per month for something that was originally included. To make matters worse, the flat has now been re-let at a significantly lower price than we were paying. We were paying £1,200 per month with parking included, yet it has since been advertised for under £1,000 per month without parking. In that context, the offer to contribute just 50% towards inconvenient, off-site parking feels completely inadequate and frankly quite insulting. We were ultimately forced to find a new property, which cost us hundreds of pounds in moving expenses, required taking multiple days off work, and caused a huge amount of stress. Despite this, the agent offered no compensation and even suggested we should be grateful to have been released from the contract. Once we had agreed to leave due to the parking issues and lack of support, we were then required to accommodate viewings of the property. This took up additional hours of my partner’s working day and caused further disruption at an already stressful time while we were trying to organise our move. Only months after we moved out did the agent state that the landlord would cover the additional parking costs we incurred — but this was conditional on us agreeing to drop any other potential claims. We will not be agreeing to this. Had they taken proper responsibility for misrepresenting the property and the significant inconvenience, cost, and stress caused, this situation may have been handled very differently. The issues didn’t stop there. They then attempted to charge us money from our deposit for items such as “discoloration in the washing machine drawer” — something that was already documented in the original check-in report. They provided an amount for repair without any supporting cost evidence. When we challenged this and requested proof, the quotes we eventually received were extremely high and unreasonable. We had to stand our ground and escalate the matter to TDS for dispute resolution, and only then did we end up paying only 40% of what they were trying to charge. It has now been months since we left the property and we still have not received our full deposit back, which is adding further financial strain and stress. Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. A letting agent should provide support, take responsibility, and offer fair, reasonable solutions when issues arise. Unfortunately, this agent failed on all counts, and I would not recommend using them.
James has been great to deal with and I would recommend Hunters as a letting agent with confidence. Thank you.
Hunters say they were “started in 1992, founded on the firm principles of excellent customer service, unrivalled pro-activity and achieving the best possible results for our customers. These principles still stand firm.” That was absolutely not our experience. We were shown a flat for rent that had actual cat faeces on the floor. The estate agents knew about the condition before the viewing and still went ahead with it. This wasn’t just messy — it was a biohazard. This was the most disgusting property I have ever been in, caked in grime, dust, left over food and actual animal waste smeared on the floor and left there by current tenants. It looked like something from a documentary about hoarders and do not get me started on the actual stench of the place. I actually felt sorry for the estate agent. She was put in the most embarrassing position imaginable, forced to show clients around a flat covered in cat faeces. That is not “excellent customer service” by any stretch. Total lack of respect for potential tenants’ time and health. Avoid if this is the standard of property Hunters think is acceptable to show. The photos advertised did NOT reflect the property in real life at all. I left the viewing feeling sick. Hunters, please have some respect and consideration for prospective tenants time and effort to come to these viewings instead of falsely advertising. The most awful experience of being shown a flat in my whole life.
My experience with Hunters has been excellent. Having met Jasmine just before Xmas enquiries for my late mother's property came in almost immediately and it sold within 3 months after 13 plus viewing interests. Hunters through Jasmine gave an almost 24 hour dedicated service with constant progress reports and management with the solicitors to completion. I have never experienced such dedication from other estate agents and would strongly recommend Hunters of the Southampton branch.
Hunters have been fantastic in helping us move into our property. The process was seamless and the communication was friendly and efficient. Great service all round from the team!
We had two houses sold successfully through Hunters in Southampton, their team are absolutely fantastic, especially huge thanks to Jasmine, lots of help from her. From my selling experience, the best agent in Southampton.
